It's surprising you don't take b12 considering your choice to be a vegetarian.
There is B12 in my supplement essential mix, I also periodically take sublingual methylcobalamin. My last two b12 tests came back as
1278 , 747 reference; 130-900
So i'm doing okay ;)
Thanks for posting more about your skin care. I am researching different options since I am developing a routine for myself. I am actually starting to get fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes, so I may need to be a little more aggressive. My biggest concern is using something with potentially negative health consequences over the long term. I'll probably start simple and slowly build as I read/learn more.
Even if you are not vegetarian or vegan you should probably supplement with b12 or eat fortified cereal (cereal not being healthy or anything):

Matt,
Really enjoy your blog and it has really helped in this first year of CR (which has been a very good experience). You really have a lot going on in this post. The suppliments apear to be a daily thing. On the skin care do you mix it around from day to day? Seems like a lot to get in every day. Your comments to clarify would be appreciated. Thanks again for the blog. Leo
Manuka Honey is a great natural healer that everyone should know about.
Great Blog Matthew.
Its great seeing people starting young, which will act as a much better test group for CR than people that have taken up when much older. Im a CR person myself, but I as you have have taken up a very protective skin care regime. Makes me think a third group of people are warranted. No CR, CR with skincare and CR without skincare, for a good comparison.
The reason i say this is that i found a site once with photo's of people that had only worn sunscreen for 20 years once and at least superficially they looked amazing also.
Also i might just add that your next 7 years will be 10 times more indicative of ability to keep a youthful look than past 7. In my experience many of my friends made it to mid 20's looking fresh faced even when some smoked, took drugs stay up all night, out in the sun etc. but by 30, nobody that is that doing that kind of damage has got away with it any longer!
My g/f was saying the other day that for a good comparison, check photo's of yourself vs your parents at the same age, is better comparison than peers. (only prob i had was that dad couldnt remember exactly how old he was in each shot!)
I think that there are two sides to the argument. one is that it takes time to diverge from your peers in terms of how old you appear. the longer time has passed the more significant the effect will be. Though looking much younger than your peers from a young age might be more difficult because less time has passed for this to be achieved. You would of had to have reversed signs of aging or delayed maturity... or you would have had to looked younger all your life from a young age.
I have non scientifically demonstrated here, its very easy to understand. BUt I think it demonstrates my point.
